And not because I would vote for him. Consider these facts.

1. Romney and Gingrich are both subpar candidates on so many levels. If elected, they’d win narrowly and have next to no mandate. Further, we’d have to wait until at least 2020 until we got a decent new candidate, and the Democrat would probably win anyway due to Republican fatigue.
2. If they lost narrowly, we’d keep the House and probably retake the Senate. So he couldn’t do anything too outrageous.
3. We could romp to a beautiful victory in the 2014 midterms, courtesy of the “Six Year Itch.” Maybe even take a filibuster-proof 60 seats in the Senate.
4. We’d have our pick of Marco Rubio, Bobby Jindal, Chris Christie, John Thune, and countless other intelligent, charismatic, qualified, and young candidates in 2016.

The only reason I can think of to want Romney or Gingrich to win is that we can still get rid of Health Care in 2013. But if the Supreme Court declares the Individual Mandate unconstitutional, we won’t even need that.

So why shouldn’t we prefer it if Obama wins very narrowly, we keep the House and Senate, and the Supreme Court declares Obamacare unconstitutional? It seems like that’s the ideal strategic outcome.

My point is Obama is a career academic and politician, a talker not a doer. His biggest success is a book which took off during his presidential run.

Our economy is shot and many people are without jobs because our manufacturing has been outsourced to third world countries benefiting international corporations interests.
