[ Comedy ] Open Question : Who played Hal in the original Malcolm in the Middle Pilot?

I’m not talking about Bryan Cranston. Obviously he played Hal in every official episode. But I remember, when the show was still on the air, downloading a copy of the original pilot — not S01E01 — it was a pre-air pilot (an actual pilot), more like S01E00. And there was some other weirdo that they originally cast as Hal, and then promptly replaced with Bryan Cranston for episode 1 (which is what is now billed as the pilot episode). I can’t find any reference to this or any video link online, but I know they had a different guy cast as Hal for the first pilot – the one they show to networks to get the show picked up, not the first aired episode pilot. I can even picture the guys face — I’ve seen him in a bunch of commercials, but no major roles. Any help would be appreciated, and any links to video evidence would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
