Suggestions of topics for a Group Discussion based on the corporate world? I’m organizing a group discussion at my college wherein there are 2 teams of 8 members each. It is based on the corporate world. I need a topic for the same. I plan on giving them a crisis to solve. The crisis could be financial, related to human resources, production etc. What kind of crisis’ usually occur in companies? What kind of a crisis would be ideal for a group discussion? Our main aim is to judge their team work, communication skill etc. Please suggest a situation that I could put the participants in. Their main aim should be to find a solution for this crisis. My mom is elderly 76 yrs old..at her job a new boss came in who tried to force her to retire, she didnt, the boss overworks her so much. She works from 8-7pm, then brings a ton of work home..and does work from 8pm- 4am, getting no sleep, weekends she works from home from 8am- 12 am, with no day off,, i noticed her personality changed, she looks 10 yrs older, frail and im very worried about her health–she doesnt need the money,, she would make more money if she stayed home but is proving a point by staying,, she could even retire now… I was visiting and she had stacks of papers all around, when i mentioned how outrageous this and how she should explain to the boss or human resources she is overworked, she got angry with me,, i think told her its just abuse to get you to leave and i told her im worried about her health.. She then starts screaming at me and says “who do you think u are talking to me like im stupid?” I said I wasnt, i am mad at your job and your boss and how they are overworking you so you retire, i said i think you should for your health,, she then screamed at the top of her lungs that i am abusing her in her own home and cursed at me,, i looked outside the peephole door and noticed group of neighbors listening…to us.. i then just said nothing and left shortly after… Why is she yelling at me? She does look sick and i have no idea how to help her.
